I. Splitting of two core processes

1. Combing (pre-process to determine fiber base)

An extra carding process is added after regular carding:

1. Remove short cotton fluff, small cotton knots and plant impurities less than 10 mm in size; remove about 40%-50% of short fibers;

2. Stretching aligns cotton fibers, and fiber length uniformity is greatly improved;

Stable spinning of high-count yarns (32S / 40S / 60S and above) is possible, while carding is difficult to do with high counts.

Effect: yarn smooth, not easy to ball, weaving breakage less; cost is higher than carding 20% ~ 40%.

2.Selvage spinning (the core process of yarn formation, improved ring spinning)

The spinning frame is modified so that two slivers are fed in parallel synchronously, separated for stretching before being gathered together for twisting. Each single yarn has a similar structure to that of a strand, eliminating the need for subsequent plaiting or twisting.

- Conventional ring spinning: single roving feed;

- Selvage spinning: double yarns running side by side, twisted into a single yarn.
